Privacy Policy
FastIPInfo (“we”, “us”) is built around a simple idea: a privacy tool shouldn't violate your privacy. This policy explains, in plain language, what we do and don't collect.
The short version
- We don't require accounts and don't ask for personal information.
- We don't store or log the IP addresses or lookup results you generate.
- Most tools run entirely in your browser; nothing about them is sent to us.
- We use privacy-respecting analytics and clearly named third-party APIs for certain tools.
Information processed in your browser
Tools such as the browser fingerprint test, cookie scanner, user-agent parser, subnet calculator, IP/binary converter, IPv6 expander and MAC formatter run entirely client-side. The data they display is read by your own browser and never transmitted to or stored by us.
Third-party services we rely on
Some tools need external data and therefore send a request to a reputable third party. We limit this to what's necessary:
- IP geolocation (home page, geolocation, WebRTC, DNS and speed tools) uses public IP-intelligence APIs (such as ipwho.is / ipapi.co) to turn an IP address into location and ISP details.
- IP WHOIS queries public RDAP servers operated by the regional internet registries.
- Speed test transfers data to/from Cloudflare's public speed-test endpoint to measure throughput.
- MAC lookup optionally queries a public OUI vendor database.
These providers receive the request necessary to answer your query (for example, the IP address being looked up) under their own privacy policies. We don't send them anything more than required.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous usage (such as which tools are popular) so we can improve the site. This sets analytics cookies and processes standard data like a truncated IP and user-agent. You can opt out with browser settings or an ad/analytics blocker, and our cookie scanner lets you see and clear what's stored.
Cookies and local storage
We use minimal local storage — for example, to remember your light/dark theme preference. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles. You can clear all of it any time from the cookie scanner.
Data retention
Because we don't collect personal data or log your lookups, there is nothing personal for us to retain. Aggregate analytics are kept per Google Analytics' standard retention settings.
Children
FastIPInfo is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
